While Allison, from No Time for Flashcards, created these games for her kindergartener, they can be easily modified for younger and older children. She used craft foam supplies she found at the dollar store to make both of these games. If you cannot find similar supplies, you can cut out your own shamrocks from craft foam and use regular craft sticks (painted); also, by simply substituting the shamrock shapes with other designs, you can make them for other seasons and holidays.
Allison uses these as fun games as quick after school activities with her son. Her main goal was to reinforce the skills her son is working on in school, but she discovered the added bonus of it being a great way to get her son talking more about what is happening in school every day.
