This is a wonderful art and sensory idea or lesson plan for kids of all ages, and it would be great no matter what the weather is outside. If it is hot, it can be done outside and the kids can see what happens as the ice melts.
In winter, you can use it to discuss winter weather and the cold! No matter what season it is, the kids will have a ton of fun with this combination of ice and watercolors. It’s art meets science in a fun and inexpensive hands on learning activity.
