This learning activity idea is so cute, and it includes upcycling, which I love. The pouch cap flowers counting box from Happy Tot Shelf is super easy to put together, and if your kid goes through those pouches of applesauce or baby food as fast as mine used to, you’ll have the supplies gathered for it in no time.
She says this is a toy that helps kids learn correspondence counting, which means that they know that one stands for one thing, two is two things and so on, instead of just being able to “count to 10.”
Kids can count the flowers as they add the pouch cap blooms, which is a good fine-motor skill activity, too. How cool is that?
